Organic Frankincense Essential Oil - North African

Our North African organic frankincense oil is steam-distilled derived from the gum resin of Boswellia carterii, a tree native to the coastal deserts of Ethiopia and Somalia.  Ancient Egyptians used frankincense for embalming, and even eyeliner, and Islamic, Jewish, Christian, and Chinese traditions have used the oil for both spiritual and medicinal purposes. 

Frankincense is a base scent that is warm, woody, and musky. Though its uses and applications are similar to that of other varieties of frankincense, aromatically, North African frankincense has a richer, deeper aroma than its Indian counterpart. Boswellic acid, a key component in frankincense, has been studied for its potential as a tumor-fighting agent. While we don’t know for sure if it can cure cancer, we do know that it offers plenty of potential for natural wellness due to its potent anti-bacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties.
